The Friends Of Crumpsall Park (FoCP) is a voluntary community group run entirely by volunteers to promote a secure environment in Crumpsall Park in which everyone can enjoy the benefits of the park and its facilities, and this is to be achieved through liaison with the Police, the council and all other relevant bodies.
The group enables and encourages informal and formal activities for those of all ages who live and work in the Crumpsall neighbourhood, especially in relation to the annual Community Carnival in the Park; and it also operates as a pressure group upon the local authority, funding agencies and other government agencies to meet the aims and objectives of the Park’s strategic plan.
The operations of the group are complex, they include monitoring all developments, activities and uses of the park to ensure they are carried out in such a way as to encourage and promote environmental sensitivity, and good environmental practice.
Crumpsall Park, through the efforts of the Friends of Crumpsall Park working in partnership with Manchester Leisure have attained the prestigious Green Flag Status for the fourth Year in a row.
